Ingredients
- 1 lb. harina P.A.N. (precooked white cornmeal)
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 4 cups warm water
Recipe
- Mix water, salt and butter until combined, then add flour, mixing quickly to avoid lumps.
- Cover with a damp towel and let rest for 10 mins
- Portion dough into balls and press flat until ~½” thick and ~4 ½” in diameter.
- Brown arepas on high heat in oiled griddle
- Finish in oven at 350C for 10-15 mins.
- Slice open partway and stuff with your favorite fillings.
