empanadas
Ingredients
- 2 cups harina P.A.N. (precooked cornmeal)
- 2 ½ cups lukewarm water
- Salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 liter oil for frying
- Filling of your choosing
Recipe
- Mix together water, salt, turmeric, sugar and butter
- Add the harina P.A.N. slowly, mixing constantly to avoid forming lumps
- Start kneading the dough - if it has absorbed all the liquid, add a little more water and keep mixing until the dough is smooth
- Let dough rest for a few minutes before preparing the empanadas
- Heat the oil for frying in a large and deep pan, form the empanadas, and fry them until golden brown.
